Less wiring. More flexibility. A smarter way to power and connect your Starlink Mini.

Compatibility

The 4x4LAB Starlink Mini PoE Splitter & 12V Power Kit is designed specifically for powering and connecting a Starlink Mini from a compatible DC battery system.

The kit converts your vehicle's 12V or 24V power supply into 48V PoE, allowing both power and Ethernet data to travel through one network cable before being separated into the Starlink Mini's dedicated connections.

Compatible With:

  • Starlink Mini – dedicated power and Ethernet splitter connections.
  • 12V Vehicle Battery Systems – suitable for correctly fused 12V power installations.
  • 24V Battery Systems – compatible with suitable 24V vehicle and off-grid electrical setups.
  • DC 9–36V Input Sources – within the converter's specified operating range and power requirements.
  • Cat5e / Cat6 Ethernet Cables – for carrying PoE power and Gigabit Ethernet between the injector and splitter.
  • Compatible External Routers – supports wired Gigabit Ethernet connections to suitable networking equipment.

Ideal For:

  • 4WD canopies and touring vehicles
  • Caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers
  • Off-grid cabins and remote installations
  • Mobile offices and remote working setups
  • Installations requiring longer, neatly routed cable runs

Not Compatible With:

  • Starlink Gen 2 Standard
  • Starlink Gen 3 Standard
  • Starlink Flat High Performance
  • Unmatched generic PoE splitters or incompatible passive PoE equipment

Important: Starlink Mini does not accept PoE power directly through its Ethernet port. The supplied splitter must be used to separate power and data into the correct Starlink Mini connections. A correctly rated DC power source and compatible Ethernet cable are required.

Installation

The 4x4LAB Starlink Mini PoE Splitter & 12V Power Kit combines power conversion and Ethernet connectivity into one streamlined installation. It allows you to power your Starlink Mini from a suitable 12V or 24V battery system and send power and data through a single Ethernet cable.

Installation Difficulty: Moderate – basic DC wiring knowledge required.

Step 1 – Position the PoE Converter

Choose a dry, protected location near your vehicle's battery system, electrical cabinet or networking equipment. Allow suitable clearance for ventilation and cable connections.

Step 2 – Connect Your DC Power Supply

Connect the converter's input terminals to a compatible 9–36V DC power source, using appropriately rated wiring and circuit protection. Follow the converter's marked polarity and grounding requirements.

Step 3 – Connect Your Ethernet Cable

Connect a suitable Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable to the converter's PoE output. This cable carries both power and data towards your Starlink Mini.

Step 4 – Connect the Starlink Mini Splitter

At the dish end, connect the Ethernet cable to the supplied PoE splitter. The splitter separates the incoming connection into dedicated DC power and RJ45 Ethernet outputs.

Step 5 – Connect Your Starlink Mini

Connect the splitter's DC power plug to the Starlink Mini power socket and its Ethernet connector to the Mini's Ethernet port.

Step 6 – Connect Your Router (Optional)

If you're using a compatible external router or wired network, connect it to the converter's Gigabit LAN port with a suitable Ethernet cable.

Step 7 – Test Your Setup

Switch on the DC supply and check that the converter receives power. Allow the Starlink Mini to start up, then verify its operation and any connected Ethernet network.

Important Installation Notes:

  • Verify input voltage, polarity and circuit protection before applying power.
  • Do not connect the passive PoE output directly to the Starlink Mini Ethernet port or an incompatible device.
  • Use Ethernet cabling suitable for the required distance, PoE power and installation environment.
  • Keep the converter protected from moisture and excessive heat.
  • Professional installation is recommended for hardwired vehicle electrical systems.
Fitment & Use Notes

The 4x4LAB Starlink Mini PoE Power Kit is ideal for installations where you want to run your Starlink Mini from a vehicle battery while keeping your power and networking equipment neatly integrated.

Instead of running separate power and data cables all the way to your dish, the 150W-rated PoE converter combines them into one Ethernet connection. The splitter then separates them at the Starlink Mini, making it easier to install your dish away from your main power equipment.

Fitment & Use Notes:

  • 12V/24V DC Operation – designed for suitable battery systems within the converter's 9–36V DC input range.
  • Dedicated Starlink Mini Compatibility – the supplied splitter provides separate DC power and RJ45 Ethernet connections for Starlink Mini.
  • Single Ethernet Cable Routing – simplifies installations through caravan walls, 4WD canopies, conduits and suitable cable glands.
  • Flexible Dish Placement – allows the converter to remain near your vehicle's battery or electrical equipment while the Starlink Mini is positioned elsewhere.
  • External Router Integration – use the Gigabit LAN connection with a compatible router to bring wired connectivity into your vehicle or installation.
  • DC Power Connection Required – the converter must be wired to a correctly rated and protected DC power source.
  • Protect External Connections – use suitable weatherproof cable fittings and ensure the injector is installed in a protected location.
  • Passive PoE System – use the supplied matched injector and splitter rather than connecting the PoE output directly to standard network equipment.

Please Note: This kit is designed for Starlink Mini only. A compatible Ethernet cable, suitably rated DC wiring and an appropriate power source are required for installation.
